On the rare occasions that we get a nice snowfall in Vancouver, I find myself dropping everything to go outside and take some photos. Seeing the magical transformation of Pacific Spirit Park and University Golf Course is really sensational. On one occasion when my kids were little, we decided to go to the golf course to do some cross country skiing after a snowfall. The small hills throughout the course were just perfect for my kids to ski on. Suddenly an agitated young man ran out of the club house and asked what we were doing. I answered that we were going to cross country ski. “Well”, he answered, still concerned, “As long as you stay off the greens”. I had no idea what a “green” was back then, and as everything was white, we skied all afternoon.
